Artist-in-Residencies
Growing up surrounded by great artists helped Mandjou understand the importance of the arts in the lives of young people. He experienced first-hand the value of passing on traditional music and culture to children and would love to share his knowledge of Guinean music and culture with students at your school. Maya has been a middle school teacher for over 17 years and is knowledgable about the needs of schools and best teaching practices.Dance Classes

Mandjou grew up in the ballets of Conakry and has headed several different performing groups in Guinea and in the United States. Take advantage of his skills and experience by having him help your group's music, choreography, and staging. Mandjou is a griot (praise singer). In Guinea, he was constantly asked to perform at ceremonies and celebrations because he has a "voice of gold." In the United States, you can study traditional songs of Guinea with him.Study Tour to Guinea
Mandjou will take drum and dance students to Guinea, West Africa for two to three weeks of intense study and lots of fun.
Workshops
Mandjou and Maya love to share their knowledge of Guinean music and culture. They are available to travel to your area to teach djembe, doundoun, dance, and song.
